These intimidating life-sized paintings are selfies of artist Grace Hoag in the bathrooms of her counseling center.
After Being Diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder commemorates Hoag's bravery in finally being diagnosed. The artist says, "I labored over color choice and built the paint up in many washy layers to give the feeling of sweat (my overwhelming memory of that event)." The face is mushy and blurry to signify that her pain is not corporeal.
