Description

Perfect explores the idea of objectification of the female figure and the illusion of beauty and proportions. I was obsessed with maintaining a figure that society tends to push on women. Although beautiful in its own right, some of the proportions romanticized in media are unrealistic and unattainable without surgery or filters. Quarantine made me realize the collective weight gain people experienced. This helped me normalize my body and gradually unlearn what I believe is a form of body dysmorphia.

Medium

Hand-carved relief print on glass; polypropylene and rivets
