Abstract
We explore the history and current meaning of an age-old concept of working to the rule, or, having a job that doesn't consume your life. In this interactive session, librarians from public, academic, and school settings explore the topic through a variety of lenses, including the individual impetus, institutional or structural impact, legal implications, issues of equality between front-line workers and administration, and the possible political solution to worker burnout.
