Abstract

Anaphylaxis is a rapid, life-threatening allergic reaction that requires immediate recognition and treatment. College campuses present unique challenges due to shared living and learning environments, students’ need for independent self-advocacy, increased risk of cross-contact in dining facilities, lower rates of carrying emergency medication, and variable awareness of severe allergies among peers. This training is designed to equip faculty and staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively recognize, respond to, and help prevent anaphylaxis in the campus setting.
