"Ack!" is a representation of my frustrations with the past year. It is absurd the sheer number of setbacks students have faced during the pandemic. We feel alienated from the rest of the world, interacting through screens and emails. Even while we are in-person again, we are finding it difficult to socially adjust. People older than us may be able to adapt better, as the pandemic was an unfortunate couple of years. Those younger than us will grow up with the new normal of the post-pandemic. But those of us in college and high school witnessed the entire world shut down during a critical time of our growth and development as human beings. We don't know what the world will begin to look like in the following years, so we just have to take it one broken pencil at a time.
