Abstract
One of the identified high impact practices (Kuh, 2008) for higher education is service learning/community-based learning. What is the role of academic libraries in engaged learning generally and service learning specifically? How does course integrated research strengthen course learning outcomes and social justice? Dean Nutefall’s presentation summarizes her research over the last decade focusing on libraries engagement in service learning and campus/community partnerships, offers examples from multiple institutions, and outlines suggestions for faculty interested in incorporating service learning/community based learning in their course.
