Abstract

Do you use Blackboard, or another Learning Management System (LMS), to provide course materials for face-to-face or online classes? Are you wondering about the legality of providing certain resources through Blackboard or other online systems? UNC General Counsel Dan Satriana will present copyright law basics with a focus on teaching and use of an LMS, suggest best practices and answer any specific questions you may have. Dan will frame his discussion around the following topics: *Copyright and teaching – application of Fair Use; *Teaching in the online environment – requirements for making resources available through Blackboard or another LMS Providing access to resources in Blackboard or another LMS; * in compliance with copyright - books, journals, articles and streaming video
