Abstract
Impact describes the reach and influence of a scholar’s work and is useful in self-evaluation, funding justification, recruitment, and tenure and promotion. This workshop covers how to determine and potentially increase the reach of your scholarly work. Become familiar with the scope of available metrics, learn of tools and strategies to promote impact (including citation counts, altmetrics, h-index, researcher IDs, and open access repositories), and understand some of the challenges and controversies surrounding impact metrics.
