Description
This piece was written to demonstrate the two sides of diversity -- what they see versus what she saw and how it has impacted my navigation through life. As I have gone into higher education, these experiences have grown closer together, but have illuminated my passion to keep my heritage, embrace my ethnicity, and love my culture for what it is at all perspectives. This poem is to inspire other Latina girls that anything is possible, you just need to see both sides of the seesaw to know the ups and downs, but know that in each rise and fall, you are stronger and will one day find your balance, and be able to see what she saw.
