UNC READS! Based on the “Celebrity READ” posters from the American Library Association (ALA), the University Libraries at the University of Northern Colorado celebrate the university community and advocacy for learning and libraries through READ posters.
ALA introduced the READ campaign in 1980, producing posters promoting libraries and advocating literacy. These materials have adorned the walls of school and public library walls ever since. Since the early 2000s, ALA has licensed the rights to create READ posters, and posters can be created by individuals and organizations to elevate books, library materials, and the visibility of educators and librarians. Many academic libraries have joined in – including the University of Northern Colorado. Enjoy the posters and Go Bears!
