Abstract
These modules were created by Dr. Tara Wood, Associate Professor of English, and Writing Program Administrator, as part of UNC's LE@RN Learning Resources mini-grants in cooperation with University Libraries and the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Use Bad Ideas about Writing to develop a quick and easy resource for instructors across the campus to implement into their writing-intensive courses. This assignment could supplement any writing task that instructors create themselves and will be meant to enrich their understanding (and thus their students' understanding) of the role grammar/syntax play in developing as a writer.
These modules include:
- Bad Idea 1: You Can Teach Writing in General
- Bad Idea 2: There is One Good Style of Writing
- Bad Idea 3: Teaching Grammar Improves Writing
- Bad Idea 4: Strong Writers Don’t Need Revision
